Do I need Planning Permission?
In most cases the answer will be no because a Coldstream Building can be dismantled and moved a Coldstream Building is usually regarded as a temporary building, but there are certain requirements.
For conservatories, you are allowed an area of "Permitted Development" but if you already have, for example, an extension on your house this area will be deducted from the total area permitted without having to have planning permission.
For free-standing buildings, it must be placed at least 1 m from a boundary and at least 5 m from your house. You will need planning permission if you live in a conservation area or a National Park or if your home is a listed building.
If you are in doubt your local Planning Authority can advise if you would need permission. Planning Departments often publish a simple leaflet explaining their requirements.
